House Rock
House rock around 6,500 CFS, June 4th, 2020
The Gallatin River peaked around June 4th this year reaching just over 7,000 Cubic feet per second. As the river rose is picked up several large trees which ended up blocking the entire right and left channels of House Rock. While it was impressive to witness such raw force, the rapid was unrunnable until the trees could be dislodged.

Jewelry Photography
Jewelry is one of the more challenging product categories to photograph, but when done right, all the effort is worth it.
Here are a few exquisite rings hand crafted by Marina Kessler Jewelry.

A Note:
A lighting challenge for sure! Might look like a pair of brass knuckles, but it’s actually a clinical massage tool.

Cody Ice Festival
Those who avoid agony of the screaming barfies can hardly be blamed, but they may never know the thrill and inimitable aesthetic of climbing solidified water in the South Fork of the Shoshone. There is likely no more fitting place to celebrate the grit and spectacle of Ice Climbing than in a truly western town founded by Buffalo Bill himself, it also helps that the South Fork has the largest concentration of climbable ice in the lower 48. This years event went off with the only minor drawback of unseasonably warm temps leading into the festival, still, many smiles were seen and ice tool swung!

A Note:
It's all in the details. On my first visit, I made the image that ended up on Joseph-Christy Vineyards premier product, a photograph of a piece of historical bunch rake. This piece of equipment that has aged with the land poetically reinforces the agricultural roots of JCV. So, when it came time to photograph the product, what better spot to showcase the bottle then on the very same bunch-rake in the original photograph.
